The Water Clock Poster
In the 3rd century BCE, a brilliant Greek inventor named Ctesibius invented this water-powered clock, so precise it remained unmatched for the next 1,800 years, until the invention of the pendulum clock in 1656.
It used a continuous flow of water to keep accurate time. At the end of each day, a siphon automatically reset the system, while a water wheel and gear mechanism compensated for the changing lengths of daylight throughout the year.
Printed in high resolution (300 DPI) and measuring 12" x 16", this poster was created by Deconstructed using our meticulously crafted 3D model. Each poster is shipped in a protective cardboard tube to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
